Cataracts of the Iguazu

The cataracts of the Iguazu were originated 200,000 years ago in the confluence of the rivers Iguazu and Parana. The cataracts of the Iguazu have backed down 23 km from their place of origin, due to the backward movement by erosion. The cataracts of the Iguazu comprise of the "National Park Iguazu", declared Natural Patrimony of the Humanity by UNESCO in 1984.

The cataracts of the Iguazu are made up of 275 jumps throughout 2.7 km, the approximated height of the jumps is of 70 ms and produce a mist in which forms rainbow.

Exciting strolls can be made in boat under the jumps, in special in the "Throat of the Devil" the one that can be observed 50 ms of distance.
