San Martin of the Andes

The city San Martin of the Andes is to borders of the Lacar lake, in the heat of Mountain range of the Andes and within the National Park Lanin. Separated by 420 km of the city of Neuquen, capital of the province. It has a population of 23000 inhabitants approximately and all the infrastructure necessary to take care of the tourism, as much in summer as in winter.

It is one of the most important cities of the province of Neuquen, has access by paved routes and airport. Closely together is the Chapelco hill, that it is an international center of ski.

National Park Lanin

The National Park Lanin must its name to Lanin volcano (extinguished) of 3,777 ms of altitude, this volcano is within the park and it always has its summit covered with snow. The park was created in 1937 and includes a 3790 surface of km2 in the Argentine mountain range.

Within the park there are many lakes, all of glacier origin, among them the lakes Lacar, Huechulaufquen, Paimun, Tromen, Lolog.

As for the flora highlights pehuen or araucaria forests, oak pelllin, rauli and the lenga, it is very common to see dense reeds colihue cane.

Its fauna is made up of birds like the travelling hawk, the eagle dwells and the eaglet, the pudu red deer, puma and the wild boar. In the lake one is the trout rainbow and the silverside.
