History of the Calafate

The Calafate must to its name to a shrub of the denominated zone calafate, the fruit of this one shrub is a berry that is used in the jelly preparation. According to the tradition, that eats calafate sometimes will return by more.

Originally, the Calafate, was a inn in the way where the travellers stopped to rest. The first settler was Charles Fhur who had settled of century principles to take care of the travellers who transported wool towards the port of Galician River.
